Who we are
The church is not a building, its the people.Who we are – Our Church
We are a group of ordinary people from many different backgrounds and nationalities, doing ordinary jobs just like everyone else, who are grateful that God has rescued us from the penalty of our wrongdoing against him through faith in Jesus Christ.
Our aim is to have a living relationship with the living God through his Son, Jesus Christ. God speaks to us today through the Bible, and it teaches that we are to worship him with the whole of our lives. When we meet together as a church for corporate worship we seek to be accessible and contemporary, but also reverent in our approach.
We are an independent evangelical church.
‘Independent‘ means we are not governed by any wider church group but operate independently. We are affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, a grouping of over 600 similar churches throughout the UK.
‘Evangelical‘ means we aim to base our lives upon the teaching of the Bible and therefore seek to:
Live our lives to the praise of God, our Creator and Saviour
Understand and teach God's Word for God's world
Learn to live and care for one another
‘Church‘ does not mean the building, it means a group of people who are followers of Jesus Christ.
The church is run by a leadership team, which includes a fulltime pastor.

Meet the Leaders
Under the headship of the Lord Jesus Christ the church is led by a team of elders and deacons.
The elders are Charlie Fadipe, Stephen Baker and David Huband.
A church administrator also provides support to the leaders.
Charlie Fadipe
Pastor
Charlie has been the pastor of Calne Free Church since 2011. He is married to Rachel, and they have two adult children. In his free time Charlie enjoys watching Rugby and being with his family. Charlie trained as an Electronic Engineer and went on to work in IT in banking before training as a pastor
Stephen Baker
Trainee Pastor
Stephen has been at Calne Free Church since September 2024 when he moved to Calne with his wife Evie. He is currently employed at Calne Free Church as the Trainee Pastor. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis and walking in the Lake District.
David Huband
Elder
David has been at Calne Free Church all of his life. He is married to Ruth and together they have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. In recent years David has retired from being a Project Engineer working for a local agricultural engineering company.
