What happens in a typical service at Calne Free Church
You'll receive a warm welcome; people here are friendly yet not intrusive. As the service starts you will see that we let God speak for himself through His Word the Bible. There'll be some prayers, the Bible will be read, a talk about what we read, usually something for the children, and various songs along the way.
Why do we do this? We do it to help us understand who God is and how he impacts our lives.
For the practicalities... our services are at 10:30am and 6pm on Sundays. There is a Junior Church for primary age children - the children will start the service in the church and at the appropriate time they will go out to their groups. Every few weeks we share communion together but there is no obligation in anyway to take part.
After the service, there is the chance:
to meet others for refreshments.
find out more details of events and group.
to pray in confidence with the pastor.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code! The principle is to come as you are! As with everything we do, we always seek to act and live with both acceptance and respect of others (which includes how we dress).
Can I bring my children?
Of course! All ages are always welcome at Calne Free Church. We have Junior Church running during the sunday morning service for children aged between 3 and 11. Older young people are encouraged to stay in the service and sermon-question sheets are provided. All people leading children's groups have gone through the necessary Criminal Records Bureau checks.
